This compact yet powerful unit features a range of inputs and outputs, including a 10G Ethernet SMPTE-2110 IP video input, eliminating the need for external converters. Alongside its large audio meter with precise ballistics, it offers a 12G-SDI input, balanced analog XLR, HiFi, AES/EBU audio inputs, and HDMI video output.
Crafted from machined aluminum metal, the Blackmagic Audio Monitor 12G is both robust and lightweight, with a sleek black anodized finish that complements other equipment. Its all-metal design minimizes acoustic vibrations even at high volumes. The front panel features buttons for soloing each channel, selecting audio sources, and muting speakers, along with a convenient headphone socket.
Despite its compact 1RU size, the Blackmagic Audio Monitor 12G delivers impressive sound quality, thanks to its high-powered amp and dual subwoofer design, which ensures rich, deep bass even in limited rack space. The audio meters boast analog-style ballistics, with each segment independently controllable and isolated, allowing for precise customization to various metering standards.
The built-in LCD on the front panel provides comprehensive monitoring of 12G-SDI and 2110 IP video inputs, displaying essential status information such as input type, video standard, and selected embedded audio pair. Additionally, the HDMI output enables connection to large screen TVs or computer monitors for broadcast monitoring, with the output converted from the selected input source.
With support for de-embedding audio from SD, HD, and Ultra HD video standards, including all common video resolutions and frame rates, the Blackmagic Audio Monitor 12G seamlessly bridges existing SDI broadcast equipment with new 2110 IP-based systems. It fully conforms to the SMPTE-2110 standard for IP video, supporting uncompressed video, the Blackmagic IP compressed codec, traffic shaping/timing, audio, and ancillary data.
Utilizing NMOS interface specifications, the Blackmagic Audio Monitor 12G enables seamless operation within 2110 IP video networks, allowing devices to function as a virtual router. Integration with Videohub Smart Control facilitates routing within IP networks, while support for IS-04 and IS-05 streamlines discovery, registration, and connection management between IP video devices, mimicking traditional SDI router functionality.
