Blackmagic Design DeckLink IP/SDI HD - SMPTE 2110
The DeckLink IP/SDI HD card offers a convenient method for capturing and playing back video directly into SMPTE 2110 IP-based broadcast systems. Customers can effortlessly integrate racks of servers to generate broadcast graphics, virtual sets, and GPU based AI image processing into their 2110 IP broadcast infrastructure, using their existing software. In addition, they can use DaVinci Resolve for editing workstations designed for ST 2110 IP broadcast. The DeckLink IP/SDI HD is compatible with the latest Mac Pro, Windows, and Linux computers, thanks to its high-speed PCIe connection.
The Blackmagic Design DeckLink IP/SDI HD can connect to both 3G-SDI and ST 2110 IP systems, with 2 capture and playback channels to 2110 IP via RJ45 Ethernet, 3G-SDI, and reference out. The DeckLink IP/SDI HD supports video standards up to 1080p60, including 720p and 1080i.
DeckLink IP/SDI HD cards conform to the SMPTE 2110 standard for IP video, which governs the transport, synchronization, and description of video, audio, and ancillary data over managed IP networks for broadcast. It also maintains video sources in sync using a common PTP clock. DeckLink IP supports SMPTE-2110-20 uncompressed video, SMPTE-2110-21 traffic shaping/timing, SMPTE-2110-30 audio, and SMPTE-2110-40 for ancillary data. The key advantage of SMPTE 2110 is that all video, audio, and ancillary data can be transported independently over the network. Furthermore, DeckLink IP supports multicast, which is an extremely efficient way to distribute video, audio, and data from a single source to multiple destinations.
The vulnerability of computers and 2110 IP video networks lies in the susceptibility to rogue software and hackers. This is due to the fact that anyone can send data to the computer's Ethernet connection. However, DeckLink IP/SDI HD offers a solution to this problem by transferring all video using frame buffers. This acts as a "video based firewall," ensuring that the DeckLink IP/SDI HD 10G Ethernet port is isolated solely for video and audio use, and preventing unauthorized access from rogue software or hackers to the ST 2110 IP network.
The DeckLink IP/SDI HD card utilizes a high-speed 4-lane PCI Express interface, providing customers with low latency and highly accurate time synchronization for multiple HD video channels, as well as simultaneous capture and playback on each of the channels. The DeckLink IP/SDI HD card's simple and low-cost 4-lane PCIe connection enables easy installation in compact and low-cost computers, including low-profile rack-mount servers.
DeckLink IP/SDI HD connections are multi-rate, supporting all SD and HD formats. The DeckLink IP/SDI HD features both 2110 IP and 3G-SDI on the same card, enabling connection to existing SDI broadcast equipment while simultaneously connecting to new IP-based infrastructure. Alternatively, customers can use the 3G-SDI output for local monitoring. In standard definition, DeckLink IP/SDI HD supports both 525i59.94 and 625i50 standards, while in high definition, it supports all 720p video standards up to 720p60, all 1080 interlaced standards up to 1080i60, and all 1080p standards up to 1080p60. Additionally, the DeckLink IP/SDI HD card can instantly switch to a new video standard without any complex changeover.
