    Blackmagic Media Player 10G

The Blackmagic Media Player 10G is a Thunderbolt 3 capture and playback solution with dual 12G-SDI outputs for key and fill playback, 12G-SDI capture and 10G Ethernet.  The Blackmagic Media Player 10G lets customers use DaVinci Resolve 19 as a media player and replay solution for live production and broadcast.

    • Thunderbolt 3 capture and playback solution.
    • Front panel equipped with an LCD, microphone input, and headphone jack.
    • Dual 12G-SDI outputs for fill and key functions.
    • Features both 10G Ethernet and 1G Ethernet ports for high-speed connectivity.
    • Fully compatible with DaVinci Resolve 19.
    • Ideal media player and replay solution for live production and broadcast.
    • Supports a wide range of video standards, including NTSC, PAL, 720 HD, 1080 HD, and 2160 Ultra HD.

The Blackmagic Media Player 10G, a versatile capture and playback solution designed for Thunderbolt computers, is ideal for live production switchers and large broadcast systems. This powerful device offers more than just video in and out, providing 10G Ethernet and power to your computer. With dual 12G-SDI outputs for fill and key playback, 12G-SDI capture, and 10G Ethernet for network storage access and laptop power via a single Thunderbolt connection, it’s a comprehensive solution for any production setup. An additional Thunderbolt connection on the front allows easy laptop connectivity. The device supports full DeckLink API features, ensuring compatibility with most video software.

The DaVinci Resolve 19 cut page introduces exciting new media player, editing, and replay features. It handles common video file formats, enabling seamless playback of any client-provided files. For broadcast graphics, it supports video files with an alpha channel, outputting as 10-bit SDI fill and key.

The Blackmagic Media Player includes everything needed for broadcast playback. It can be placed on a desktop or rack-mounted using a Blackmagic Universal Rack Shelf. The front panel features an LCD displaying video and audio meter status, including input, video standard, and the depth of the record/playback frame buffer. The audio meter can switch between VU and PPM, and there’s a headphone socket, speaker, and a speaker enable button.

With fast Thunderbolt for video capture and playback, along with 10G Ethernet and laptop power over a single cable, the Blackmagic Media Player offers front and rear Thunderbolt connections for both rack mount and laptop computers. Utilizing the DeckLink API, it ensures compatibility with almost all video software. The bidirectional Thunderbolt link allows real-time video capture, processing, and output.

The Blackmagic Media Player 10G features numerous connections for monitoring, extended desktop, and fast networking, all via a single Thunderbolt connection. Program fill and key outputs can be muted to prevent keying on a switcher until the replay starts, while dedicated 12G-SDI and HDMI monitoring outputs remain active for setup. Additionally, it offers an extended desktop for the DaVinci UI and USB expansion for a keyboard and mouse.

With dual 12G-SDI video outputs, the Blackmagic Media Player integrates seamlessly with live production switchers, allowing for broadcast graphics overlay with transparency. It supports both RGBA and YUVA frame buffers, making it ideal for broadcast graphics and stingers.

The high-speed 10G Ethernet port enables access to network storage when connected to the Thunderbolt port, eliminating the need for extra Ethernet adapters. Blackmagic Cloud Stores with 10G Ethernet provide the speed required for accessing shared media and ISO recordings, facilitating collaborative work in DaVinci Resolve.

Designed for the highest quality video, the Blackmagic Media Player supports popular video formats such as Apple ProRes, DNxHD, and 10-bit uncompressed, ensuring users are not restricted to a single file format.

Compatible with all popular video software, the Blackmagic Media Player allows users to work with their preferred tools. It is perfect for using DaVinci Resolve for broadcast editing and color correction.

Supporting the latest Ultra HD video standards on its 12G-SDI video connections, including 2160p23.98 to 2160p60, the Blackmagic Media Player is ideal for broadcasters, enabling migration to Ultra HD and 4K work.
