The Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K 2 is an updated compact and lightweight broadcast camera designed for live production. This is version 2 of Studio Camera 4K, which removes the internal battery, making for a studio camera that is both lighter and simpler to ship to locations without running afoul of airline shipping restrictions. Constructed from a magnesium alloy body, the camera is light even for travel, yet durable enough for use in the field. It has a large 10" LCD screen with detachable sunshade and an active Micro Four Thirds lens mount for compatibility with a wide range of lenses. The camera also provides features you'd expect to find in larger studio cameras, such as tally indicators, talkback, XLR audio connections, 12G-SDI inputs/outputs, and even optical fiber via an optional module.
Large 10" Full HD Viewfinder
The Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K 2 includes the worlds largest viewfinder built in! The massive 10" high resolution screen has a super wide viewing angle and the large viewing area lets you see amazing detail so you can frame, focus, change iris settings and make subtle adjustments, even when you're live on air.
Bi-Directional Optical Fiber - Get video, audio, talkback, tally over long distances
The Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K 2 includes a user-upgradable fiber optic connection, allowing you to use a single thin tether cable to connect cameras to your live production switchers. The optical fiber connection is bi-directional and carries HD or Ultra HD video with embedded audio, talkback, tally and even camera remote control. And because it uses standard, low cost fiber optic cable, you can connect cameras over massive distances almost anywhere, even at the largest outdoor venues.
Stay in touch with the entire crew over long distances!
Pair up to 8 of the Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K 2 with the ATEM Talkback Converter 4K to give you talkback, so the entire crew can stay in touch and take direction during live productions. Featuring advanced 12G-SDI connections the talkback converter gives you full bi-directional video, talkback and tally signals over the SDI program return to your Blackmagic Studio Cameras. That means you don't need any extra cables to add talkback and tally to your production! The ATEM Talkback Converter 4K also has SFP cages for adding optional SMPTE optical fiber modules when you need to place your cameras far apart at larger venues. That means you can place your cameras up to 28 miles away from the switcher without any loss of signal quality.
